Kinda works
I picked this up as a replacement for my Apple TV 4K remote; I had shattered the glass on my old one (I think we all agree this is a bad design from Apple). At the time I purchased this, the add didn't mention anything about which Apple TV it went to. I didn't notice the little flaw for the first few days, and I would argue that the remote still technically works; but every time I turn the volume up, it acts as if i've moved the trackpad. Meaning, it "scrolls" down when I turn the volume up. (I tried resetting, charging and unplugging everything) This weird little feature is the only downside, and it is more of an inconvenience than anything else. This remote may work perfectly fine with other Apple TV's, and I could have just picked up a refurbished one with a crossed wire somewhere. If you are on a budget, refurbished may be your only option, but if at all possible, I recommend new. I should have dropped the extra $10 to get something new from Apple. Multifunctional, well designed

It is not original as they stated. Be aware before you purchase from them. Very Poor quality, look at the pictures left side is almost open. Look somewhere else. Update: the remote need to be charged almost every 6 hours.
