The input for this VFD is 1 phase. NOTE: This drive only works with 3-phase asynchronous motors. 220V 7.5KW VFD. There is enough space for cooling between each component, and the product casing is designed with multiple holes, the above features can make this VFD have a longer service life.

  • Should be good enough?

I've only had this a few days. I will try to keep this review updated as I go. Initially, I'm a little disappointed that mine didn't come with a rotary knob as it is in the pictures. I should be able to wire a potentiometer to do the same thing once it's all set up, but that would have been nice to have. After looking closer, some of the picture don't have the knob in it. I have no idea what that means for anyone else getting this. The manual feels a little lacking. I was hoping for more detailed installation instructions as I've seen other's have on higher end VFD's. I'll be using this to run a large metal lathe. I have yet to connect it to power, but everything looks to be in order. I was hoping to have specific installation information like, how large of a breaker works best, if a fast acting fuse is needed, rf filter, anything like that. I get they can't recommend information for every country, but I was still hoping. I emailed the seller(they emailed back within 2 days so that's a big positive), and they basically said what the manual mentions. Connect 220v single phase to the 2 terminals mentioned in the manual, and wire the motor to the output terminals. We will see. running this much power has me a little skeptical, but I will figure it out. Again, I will try to come back and update once I've got it running. I don't yet know if I recommend it or anything else. It's definitely the cheapest option for converting this much power.

  • Surprise in a small package

I received the item very quickly and was immediately surprised by it's small size. I have not installed it yet, but I am really looking forward to using it to (partially) replace an old, noisy, and expensive-to-replace rotary phase converter. I purchased the item on the recommendation of a friend who runs his whole shop with one unit the size of half a loaf of bread. Impressive. Unfortunately, I may eventually need more than one unit to do that in my shop, but the total cost will still be a fraction of the replacement cost of the rotary converter.

  • Works great and hard to beat the price!

I used this to power an old 10Hp metal turning lathe. We don't have 3 phase power in our garage and I didn't want to get a phase converter. This VFD was easy to set up, cheaper to buy than a phase converter, and made the machine safer to operate. I am only running the lathe at 60Hz for now, but tested the variable speed and it works great. Nice and smooth. I may be back for another VFD once I get my hands on a milling machine.

  • amazing value

So far so good. Have it on a 10hp IR compressor. Starts and stops it no problem, with a little tweaking on the accel/decel. At full pressure, the unit draws 56 amps at 240 on the single phase input. Motor never draws more than 24 amps. I have the pressure switch closing the start/stop input (pe 04). I do have a toggle in the input line so I can turn on the vfd and let it boot before it starts the compressor motor.

  • Output terminated to 3 phase 240v 10hp M...

Output terminated to 3 phase 240v 10hp Marathon Electric motor utilized on Ingersoll Rand T30 120 gal horizontal air compressor setup. This VFD is fairly simple and the programmable user interface is intuitive enough that it won't require a thoroughbred background in electrical engineering to figure out how to set it up. There's a lot of room for adjustability within the parameters available on the VFD and even more room when you incorporate external serial data connections (RS485 etc).

  • Easy install, quiet and powerful

Easy hook up and runs my 3 phase 5HP Varidrive motor just fine. Fan only runs when it is sending power to the motor, that's a good thing. Tried using a YH 5hp VFD, but would not work in my situation of varying heavy load. The YH VFD kept giving me over voltage error, this one handles the load perfectly.

  • Working good so far.

I installed this vfd on a 10 hp three phase compressor motor and I’m powering it with single phase 220v. So far it’s doing great. Had to tweak some of the settings out of the box and get it working off the pressure switch, but not too bad. I’m really impressed that it’s running my compressor as well as it does. It’s an Ingersoll T30.

  • So far still testing

Easy setup really cool motor can b use to change speeds 1800 to 3600 +........ Have not check it under a full load yet. Going to buy one to soft start my a/c unit will save money not sure if it will work on single phase going to test it.

  • Go ahead and buy that 3 Phase equipment

It would be helpful if the different functions/settings were better defined. Also, some of the directions are not well translated to English, this can cause confusion. That said, it seems to run my 3 Phase equipment just fine. I wish I'd known about this earlier, I have past up some good deals on old 3 Phase stuff.

  • Great product, hands down winner over static phase converter

Efficiently runs a 5hp 3 phase motor on single phase power as advertised. Replaced a static phase converter that cost $hundreds more but ran motor inefficiently and frequently tripped 3-phase breaker in control panel. Default 60Hz programming was not appropriate for my application - weak instructions slowed identifying correct settings and wiring remote on - off switch. Rating would be 5 with better instructions.
