Excellent upgrade over gen 1 pencil though still an expensive addition.
The second gen Apple pencil is a great update over the original pencil, which I had previously. Now that it magnetically attaches and charges wirelessly, not to mention the flat side preventing roll away, it feels like an even more premium product. The lack of cap to protect the lightning connector is also a nice upgrade as its one less thing to lose, so this version feels more solid. It is still an expensive addition and so I can't say it's good value, but I personally find using it for highlighting, writing, and drawing to be miles better than using your finger so I recommend it.

ESSENTIAL FOR MUSICIANS
I am a professional musician and having the iPad and pencil have made my life so much easier. You can ‘white’ over old markings and fingerings and pencil in your new ones and mark important things in red , or whatever colour you want! The thickness is also infinitely variable. Ther pencil feels lovely in the hand too.
