Shipping was longer than expected.. but product is worth the wait!
I'm still driving mildly on the new clutch so I haven't really been able to test this to the max for fear of glazing it (the clutch) but lordy this (combined with a mid weight aluminum flywheel) is undoubtedly the single best mod I've done to my Mini, and I have a Wilwood BBK (more expensive the LSD) and JMTurbo Coopers quick spool K03 turbo, full custom exhaust, ECU tuned for mods and the list goes on. With the extra power I've added and living in Seattle where the ground is wet fairly often, well, you had to be careful from a red light or you'd spin A wheel (thanks to open dif, yay... not). No more wheel spin! Again I can't really lay into it yet but even trying to go easy on the clutch the traction difference is amazing, she just goes and combined with the responsiveness of the engine with a flywheel half the weight of mini's original dual-mass abortion of iron it's just outstanding. You sacrifice a very small amount of "driveability" by going to the lighter flywheel, that is IF you are prone to the occasional engine stall you will stall the engine more now, without the centrifugal momentum of a 34lb flywheel to save you from time to time engaging the clutch too fast with not enough rpms and she'll stall every time. Shouldn't be a problem if you don't suck at driving, which is a label I would imagine anyone even thinking of this substantial upgrade would fall under. If you are already opening up the tranny for whatever reason and you're thinking "man, all this work to do (this) and I might eventually get the Quaife LSD and have to do it again..." you're absolutely right, do whatever you have to, sleep on the couch for a few days or eat crow, but get this for your Mini if you love it and want it to be even more fun to drive than it already is. You won't regret it. BTW, there are "better" LSD's out there but starting at twice the price? Not worth it IMO, but I'm not made of money and I see a track once a year if I'm lucky, unless you're a Randy Pobst level driver I sincerely doubt you'd notice a difference.
Recently fitted a quaife to my GP2 which the car should have had from factory, also upgraded clutch the same time so still running clutch in at moment and not yet driven hard enough to fully use the diff,
