It could have been a contender
The elements are all there and the characters all have a lot of potential, though some of the actors don't seem convinced about this from their performance. For the obvious lack of budget the effects were optimal adn the story looked to be building towards something great. However, as is the wont with modern TV series, especially in the UK, as soon as it looks as if a Science Fiction series is going to cost long term investment, the plug is pulled. This ended far too soon and abruptly, as if the writers - hearing they were soon to be laid off - gave up and rushed a denouement before the characters could even be fully developed.
