Headphones feel very well built. Extremely comfortable to wear. Case is great for storage. You will need a good hifi amp to use these properly no good for phones and smaller music systems. But once in a hifi its brilliant, clear sound, punchy bass, very clear trebles and mids, the open back gives it a concert like sound.

  • Audiophile quality without the hype

These headphones genuinely deliver a natural and full range sound in an open headphones format and offer higher fidelity than other headphones 2 or 3 times the price. while admittedly headphone listening can be subjective beyer have always delivered a more natural sound in their professional range than other manufacturers. the detail in the sound is remarkable, and the bass reproduction is exceptional, capturing very deep lows that usually only bass ported speakers can achieve. the mid and high are detailed and clear. i use these for mastering recordings as well as serious listening. they are 250 ohm so not really suitable for driving using a portable player, you need a good (or professional) amplifier to drive these. compared to the older dt990's (I have a pair from the late 1980's) these are more sensitive, has a cord on only one side (as opposed to both sides) but the sound quality of the 990 is very similar, these probably have the edge over my early 990 model. if you need high fidelity high quality enclosed then the dt 770 is the way to go. the dt150 is ok but more of a monitoring than mastering headphone. dt250's are ok but don't have the extended range of the 770 or 990. these for me are the top of the range of beyer headphones. the only downside is that the cable is not detachable, but they do come with a 1/4 inch to 3.5 mm adapter built in. not suitable for recording studio sessions as the sound leakage will cause feedback. your ears will love you if you buy these!

  • Comfortable, well priced, and great open back headphones

Sound stage and fidelity are both phenomenal. Wonderfully comfortable. Very satisfied that I found the product in such a good quality even though it was bought so far below market price, goes to show that good audio gear stays good! The 6.25/3.5 unscrewable audio jack is genius too.

  • The cheapest audiophile headphones you can get.

Everyone should own a pair of these. A truly stunning set of headphones that outclass a lot of much more expensive offerings.
