The Makita DUR181 Replaces the BUR181 and is fully compatible with 3.0ah and 4.0ah batteries. This is a body only, not supplied with batteries or charger. Makita DUR181Z Features Battery capacity warning lamp. Adjustable loop-handle can be adjusted according to user's height and working posture. Adjustable cutting head 5-position pivoting head enables user to adjust cutting angle, allowing for trimming in tight places such as under the bench, etc. Telescopic pipe shaft adjustable in length from 1,150mm to 1,330mm. Bump and Feed cord feeding system (Single-cord cutting). Nylon cord can be fed from the spool by bumping the bump feed button against the ground. Spool assembly is easy to attach remove and easy-to-rewind and equipped with metal bump feed button for wear resistance.

lightweight with great features
always with battery driven items will battery need charging often well not with this device the 3amp battery made easy work as did the strimmer in my garden. especially useful is the tap button on the wire feeder and self trim cutter keeps you on the move without having the tedious necessity to remove the spool and adjust it manually when the cutting wire breaks. its not heavy at all and the adjustable head little awkward to adjust but again not a problem overhaul buy it you wont regret it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great price. I checked! I wondered if one battery would provide enough power but in practice it does some hard work although, as you might expect, your batteries will be drained. It is nicely balanced which makes the work easier - less strain on the back - and there is a strap if you have a lot to do. The swivelling head makes edging a lot easier and that is a lot of what I routinely need from a stimmer. Well made, light, adjustable for length and angle for those tricky places and the battery goes on and on. Working around delicate plants there is less likelihood of doing irreparable damage and it is a lot quieter than the bigger petrol strimmer used for the rough stuff. Being a Makita user I bought the DUR 181Z line cutter so that I could use my existing batteries and not be hampered by a power cord. As a strimmer, it works as well as a mains powered one though getting the bump feed to pay out extra line can be a bit hit and miss.
