Careful choice, good results, good price
This memory module arrived promptly, well-protected in a retail plastic case although that was probably not original as this was a surplus device, not new. I bought this 8GB Samsung DDR3 memory module to work with an existing 8GB Samsung module I already had. It works well, enabling dual-channel memory mode in an AM3+-socket Asus motherboard. I took care to try and match the manufacturer, device code etc. when I ordered it but this was probably overkill on my part. I ran an exhaustive memory test (MEMTEST) on both modules for a few hours before using it in anger, no errors reported. After a few weeks of real-world use for many hours a day I have encountered no problems. The extra capacity has made a noticeable difference to my PC's performance especially when I stress my machine with compute-heavy loads while browsing and doing other background tasks.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Easy to install upgrade
I bought this particular type of RAM because it is the same as I already have in my PC and I have doubled the RAM to 16MB as a consequence. I have noticed marginal increase in speed but I am not doing any intensive work requiring lots of RAM at the moment. This is phase 1 of an upgrade to my 6 year old PC.
