Hunters appreciate the low profile of the Leupold Rifleman 3-9x40 mm riflescope. With no exposed turrets, its refined appearance comes with excellent performance. With a base power of 3x magnification, it goes up to 9x magnification for those long shots. At maximum magnification, you experience a field of view at 100 yards of 32.9 feet. At the minimum setting, the field of view at 100 yards equals 13.1 feet. Leupold has produced the Rifleman with fully coated lenses. This enables a clear and bright sighting image. Use it to see game even in low light levels. The fast focus eyepiece allows you to achieve the best sighting image as soon as possible. The eyepiece is lockable as well. This proves helpful, especially if pursuing predators at dusk. Your view through the scope includes a ballistic ranging reticle. With these crosshairs made of wire construction, you make successful shots at up to 500 yards. You may also use the holdover capabilities to maintain accuracy at 200, 300, or 400 yards. The classic second focal plane location for the reticle keeps its appearance the same at different magnification levels. Your eye and brow stays safe because of the eye relief clearance of a minimum of 3.7 inches. The parallax adjustment for these scopes is fixed at 150 yards. This means that you experience no parallax issues at that distance. In some situations, parallax could introduce variations between what you see and the actual position of the target. With these scopes, there are almost no issues with this type of optical variation. Windage adjustments have a maximum internal adjustment of 56 MOA, as do the elevation adjustments. With friction adjustment, you use a coin to make the turns. A dime works well to make changes in all directions. The settings hold firm on the Rifleman scope, and the recoil of the gun does not alter your target settings. Leupold filled the scope with nitrogen to keep it fog proof. This prevents humidity and temperature extremes from allowing water to cling to the lenses. Tight O-rings ensure that the tube is waterproof. The strong construction of the 1-inch tube is also shock proof. Leupold used 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum on the main tube. This material allows the Rifleman to be lightweight, durable, and corrosion resistant. The full length of the scope is 12.3 inches, and the product weighs 12.6 ounces. The spread from the eyepiece bell to the objective bell is 5.6 inches. The eyepiece itself is 3.2 inches, and its diameter is 1.6 inches. The objective diameter is 1.8 inches. Accessories available for the Leupold Rifleman include mounting rings for Ruger rifles. The scope also mounts on guns like the AR or Remington .260. Sunshades for hunting in bright conditions may also be attached to the scope. The black matte finish resists scratching and maintains your camouflage because the surface does not reflect light.
