The 1899 one-dollar US silver certificate depicts the portraits of two presidents, President Lincoln on the left and President Grant on the right. In the center of this black eagle mule certificate is an eagle looking to the right with an American flag in its claws. This US silver certificate features the seal of the United States Treasury to the right of the eagle, and on the left is a fancy number one. In addition, blue ink is used for the serial number on this black eagle mule certificate, the fancy number one, and the treasury seal. The front of this 1899 one-dollar certificate also includes the wording "one silver dollar" with the words "silver certificate" between the presidential portraits.
