Marshall The Guv'nor overdrive pedal. Absolutely awesome
The history of The Guv'nor and successor pedals the Blues Breaker, Drive Master (Said to have the same circuitry as The Guv'nor but repackaged) and Shred Master is available elsewhere. Getting one of these pedals, especially an old Guv'nor, that WORKS is the problem. This is the second, failing pedal I've bought in the last week. When it's connecting inside it is truly awesome. Massive sound with its lovely 3 tone controls which allow boosted bass or scooped mids (metal) or whateve one wants, unlike the common "tone" knobs. Gain goes from barely discernable to stunningly delicious raunch, ripping sheets. Way unlike over a dozen more modern pedals I've tried, it does not just make a lot of chatter or fuzz when gain goes up. With my short scale bass, low notes are defined, not fuzzed out mess. Fabulous, best-of-all overdrive. But are there any being sold which function properly? I'm hoping so, because I just bought acouple others!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Saweeeet sound!!!
I learned about this pedal watching my favorite YouTuber Dave Simpson. It really sounds like a marshall since my lead 15 is a one channel amp this adds the distortion. It's really like a higher gain overdrive than a distortion but it's even better with a tube screamer or fuzz/distortion added to it and I love it by itself as well.
