The Caviar hard drive is built to last, using "NoTouch" ramp load technology to prevent the recording heads from touching the disk surface, thereby prolonging the lives of both the heads and the disk itself. With a spindle speed of 7200 RPM and an 8 MB cache buffer, this Western Digital hard drive transfers data extremely efficiently. The Western Digital Caviar 250 GB hard drive also features Data Lifeguard software, which constantly monitors vital sequences to ensure that the data on the drive remains secure.
