Ideal for youth players and travelers alike, the Taylor Big Baby acoustic guitar is a beautifully constructed, compact instrument. The largest of their small-body guitars, this 15/16 scale-sized Dreadnought from Taylor Guitars is only slightly smaller than a full-size guitar. The body of this instrument measures 19.5 inches long, 15 inches wide, and 4 inches deep. It's easy to store or fit in the van with drums, amps, and accessories on the way to a gig. However, it still provides a full-bodied acoustic sound with great bass and plenty of volume. The kid-friendly scale makes the Taylor BBT a great learner guitar that’s also appropriate in the studio as recording gear.Like all the acoustic guitars in the Taylor Baby series, this guitar has an arched back to bolster the volume. This design allows the smaller guitar to have a big tonal voice while also being compact and easy to play. It features 20 frets and a scale length of 25.5 inches. This instrument has a tortoise pickguard and Elixir Phosphor Bronze Light strings. The tuners are made of die-cast chrome. A true guitar for players of all levels, it has few entry barriers for those who are new to the instrument. The top of the guitar is made from solid Sitka Spruce with a varnish finish for a broad musical range. The back and sides are constructed from layered sapele, which is durable and climate resistant yet easy to carry in a gig bag. The neck is also made of sapele, with a smooth Ebony fretboard, standard 6mm dot inlays, and standard headstock. The arched back of this acoustic guitar provides additional structural support while adding some acoustic space to the sound box. Great for beginners
I needed something that was easy to play, I like its looks and feel. I was surprised to find one for sale. Most stores have been sold out. Sure glad I found one. Very good quality for the price. Tacoma makes a great guitar, even though it's made in Mexico. I'll be adding an amplifier soon. It was very close to being in tune out of the box. this guitar rocks
this is a great, inexpensive beginner or intermediate level guitar. it has a small modern c shape neck that feels like one on an electric guitar. I had a set/up done at my local guitar shop (not guitar center) with 9's and adjusted to the lowest possible action with minimal fret buzz. it's a great player now with the clarity and volume of a bigger guitar. check it out for yourself, taylor hit it outta the park on this one. inexpensive enough that you can take it with you where ever you go. Amazing guitar
Amazing guitar -- I much prefer this to the GS mini which I've also owned. The GS was more smooth sounding and harder to tune and keep in tune. The Big baby is a fan favorite as my brother also owns one. We love them. Big baby has a much more raw and steely sound, which I love. It is definitely great for the country tunes that I adore so much. The only thing I like more about the GS mini was the case. Get one today! - 306-GB Taylor "Big Baby" - great value - fantastic practice/travel guitar
I have nothing against the newer Mexico made Taylor 306-GB aka "Big Baby" because I've not played one to know the quality - If they are anything like this 2001 California made 306-GB then get one today! Or hold out for a California used one on eBay. Mine came in mint condition - needed strings & a replacement case (easy find) & it was like factory new. I am an intermediate player & I keep it on a wooden Taylor stand in the living room. I play/practice fingerstyle & flat picking on this guitar on a daily basis. I highly recommended this guitar because it won't break the bank - Don't settle for cheap guitars with horrible action & bad tone - This guitar has no tone issues & the action is smooth. When this one arrived I put new strings one & it was sounding excellent from the start - stays in tune & is a joy to play! As reference for my comparison, my performance guitar, a Martin DC-15 ME. Amazing guitar. Plays great, so bright sounding can't believe the price, now I do understand it's a beginner/travel guitar and play it next to and with a Martin D-28 which has a much deeper tone, but, come on, it's 1500 dollars cheaper and they sound incredible together, the tonal combination is astounding. Everyone comments how they sound jamming together. Also the package from Alto was beautiful came in 2 days, and it was set up with those Elixor strings. Absolutely and completely satisfied.
