There's Nothing Like a Classic
It's a Fender Stratocaster, what more do I need to say? It's American made and it's an instrument of top notch quality. I chose to go with the American Special because it's a little less expensive than the American Standard, and some say it's just as good. There are a couple of minor differences that don't really affect the playability. The tone may be a little different, but it still has excellent tone. I chose the HSS configuration (Humbucker bridge pick up), because I think it adds a little more versatility to the sounds. That's a personal preference. But, I'm just very pleased. Hendrix and Clapton played Strats and that's good enough for me.

Fender American Special HSS Stratocaster
I thought it sounded a little glassy until I plugged it into my Bass amp. Wow I thought I was John Lee Hooker. This is a fantastic guitar and I haven't done any upgrades yet. Nothing but guitar and Bass amp no gagets and it sounds hot. I can't wait to get an amp with some distortion, echo ect. I can't put it down.
