The Highway One is a great example of the legendary Stratocaster model series. Made in the USA, this classic Fender Stratocaster is great for any serious rock player. It is perfect on stage or in the studio. This model is known for being a great starter Strat for serious musicians. Greats such as Jimi Hendrix have rocked out on similar Fender Stratocasters over the years. This is yet one more solid entry in a line of great guitars, and it comes with a number of impressive features. This is a solid-body, six-string electric guitar. The body is made of alder, one of the quintessential tonewoods for Fenders. The company has been using this wood since the 1950s. It contributes to the full-bodied tones this guitar produces, and it also provides plenty of sustain. The high notes are fine and clear and the lows are lovely resonant, warm, bass tones. This wood is finished beautifully in satin nitrocellulose with a vintage-style sunburst finish. The neck of this guitar is made with maple. Although inspired by classic Strats, it has a modern shape and radius. This contributes to it being fast and quick to play. It is also easier on guitarists' hands. Slightly heavier than alder, maple is a smooth and sturdy wood. It accentuates high notes, helping them ring brightly and with clarity. It also produces clear bass sounds. The fingerboard is made of rosewood, which makes for a highly playable, fast neck. This is an oilier wood, allowing it to stand up to the oils produced by players' fingers as they move over each string. Rosewood is excellent at producing bright musical notes. As a heavy wood, it makes an excellent accent to this guitar.The hardware on this axe is also impressive. It is durable and looks great when playing. The Atomic humbucker pickup rests in the location of the bridge. Two Alnico 3 single-coil pickups round out the sound. With all of these options, players have a lot of control over what they achieve. This model is able to perform blues-inspired, down-and-dirty songs, as well as precise prog-rock music. The tone circuit is a Greasebucket. Introduced in the mid-2000s, this type of circuit provides a highly clean sound. It is popular with pros, and noticeably different from the standard circuit found in Fender electric guitars. This circuit is great for use with accessories such as overdrive pedals.The hardware is finished in chrome for a perfect classic-rock look. The 22 frets are fat and highly playable. The Highway One's bridge is a vintage tremolo setup. The headstock is oversized, in true 1970s Stratocaster style. There are white precision inlays in the fretboard as well. highway one stratocaster
If you have a customized Fender St r a to caster in mind with your own pickups and electronics, the highway one is a good platform from which to start. I replaced the pickups with lace sensors, the grease bucket circuitry with standard volume/tone controls and the pick guard with a white pearl and now absolutely love this guitar.
