This Fender Deluxe Roadhouse model Strat is a great buy for any guitarist. Fender Strats are highly versatile instruments, popular for both rock and jazz, and these Stratocaster guitars have earned a stellar reputation among serious musicians.Made in Mexico, this Stratocaster is a classic six-string, double-cutaway electric guitar. It has a solid body made of alder and finished with gloss polyester. Alder is a lightweight wood that creates an excellent full-bodied sound. It is great for blues and rock music, as it produces solid mids and robust bass notes.The hardware on this electric guitar includes two tone knobs, one volume knob, and a vintage tremolo bridge. The tuners are lockable and also made by Fender. The single-coil Texas Special pickup package rounds out the electronics setup. These Texas Special single-coil pickups create minimal buzz and hum. The pickups have a warm, slightly dirty effect. They create a great bluesy tone and are also great for indie rock players. They are controlled by a V6 rotary switch, which is disguised as a tone knob. This V6 also delivers six different preamp settings. The bridge is a two-point tremolo model with vintage-style saddles.The neck, fretboard, and fingerboard on these deluxe Roadhouse Strats are made from sturdy and attractive maple. This is a fast and responsive wood that is great for hammer-ons and pull-offs and fast licks up and down the neck. It also holds up to lots of use. This is especially important for the fingerboard because oils from the hands typically lead to deterioration on most guitars over time. This guitar combines the best features of a classic Fender with a "modern C" neck profile. The 9.5-inch radius and 21 medium jumbo frets only add to the playability of this riff-producing machine. Along with being functional, the Deluxe Roadhouse Strat has a beautiful look. The headstock is large and features a vintage 1970s logo. It is available in a number of bright, classic colors and finishes and features a sturdy four-ply pearloid pick guard. This guitar also allows plenty of room for personalization and modification, as you can easily change the pickups to create the precise style you're looking for. Adding a whammy bar to create warm vibrato sounds is another option for changing up your sound with this classic Stratocaster.Accessories can impact the tone that players get from their guitars. Great looks, great feel, killer tones, fun to play...
I went to the local music store to try out strats and found this model last. I sure am glad I took the time to try it out. I didn't know about the V6 preamp control but was pleased at all the tonal variations. Sounds great with or without it and the S-1 switch lets you move between the two easily. Great neck and body feel with nice frets and compound radius neck. Fender says these are strung with 09-42 but the strings sure feel lighter to me. The big headstock is cool and the gig bag is the deluxe padded one like the old days. For a MIM guitar you can't get any better. Locking tuners are great. My only complaint is that the black dot pearl inlays don't really show worth a darn and don't "pop" at all.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

The Most Versatile Strat Of All!!
Purchased the Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocaster a month before this review, WOW what a fine guitar! I love the feel of this thing and the color is the Vintage White which is like a yellow or "Banana Cream" color, very pretty guitar. I have the model that is equipped with the Texas Special pickups and man these things sound sweet! This is honestly the most versatile Strat the you will find factory. The sounds are what you expect from a maple neck Strat, clear and has the vintage "Strat Quacky and clucky" sound. Kick in the preamp via the S1 switch and boom!! The vibe is taken to another level of sonic Strat sweetness! This guitar is so much fun to play and the looks are killer, I love the larger headstock as it really sets this axe apart. IMO this is hands down the best Stratocaster you will find under $1,000. You get more tonal goodness, great looks and a guitar that is a pure tone machine. For you folks who are always looking and playing around to get that special sound look no further than the Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocaster!
