The HD28 is a newer version of the D28 with a few slightly different features, such as scalloped bracing and a Zig Zag back inlay strip. Just like the D28, the HD28 has an Ebony fingerboard, solid Spruce top, solid Rosewood back and sides, white binding, and a black and white rosette. find of my lifetime....
purchased a project HD28- busted soundboard from being dropped. it turned out to be one of my easiest and most successful jobs that I've taken on- turned out great! Most magnificent guitar I've ever seen- I also play a D45 but now not as much as I used to. It's a 2015 model and this Herringbone 28 outshines them all including a bunch of standard 28s. 13 year old Martin on E-bay.........
I decided to take a chance on an old Martin on E-bay and could not be happier. It has a worn in patina, but that just makes it better as far as I'm concerned. Like an old pair of blue jeans, this thing feels like an old friend I've known forever. The sound is sparkly resonant, responds to a light touch, but can be driven hard without breaking up.
