Beautiful, Perfectly set up
I was expceting the bass to be nice, but it's really mint. The setup is spot on, intonation, action, spacing, couldn't be better. No buzzes, back-buzzes, fretboard is near perfect. It came with some really nice flat-wound strings, but I was prepared to put on some Rotosounds since lots of used basses need new strings. But this plays and sounds so great, I'm not going to touch it. I'm really glad I got this opportunity to share my results, ebay feedback only allows about 30 characters, totally inadequate to convey my satisfaction with this unbelievable 2011 Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass. I actually prefer these 2011-2013 electronics to the newer ADJB, since it has an Active/Passive switch and a passive tone control. More current ones lack these options. I did swap out the black pickguard for a white 3-ply one, and swapped the knobs to chrome. Makes it "Pop", and gives it a 70's look. It looks amazing now! The case that came with it is also awesome. Pleasant Surprise!
I knew that I wanted to get ahold of a "real" American crafted bass and in mu opinion Fender sets the bar. Well after this purchase I can honestly say that I truly underestimated the playability and tone of the new Fender Jazz V! My previous Fender Jazz Marcus Miller artist (Made in Japan) just never cut the mustard for me to what I thought Fender Jazz should play and feel like...maybe it's what I get for not buying American but the MIJ Fender Jazz always left me wanting but this American Deluxe is articulate, throaty and VERY playable!
