Good quality entry level turntable that helps you be social and still keep your records intact
This is an entry-level turntable in the sense that it is good quality, and won't destroy your vinyl. It is obviously a good bit more expensive than many other turntables, but worth the price if you are at all serious about preserving your collection. The only downside is that it does not have phono outputs. However, it apparently has a good quality preamplifier inside (unconfigurable), as it sounds more or less identical, using the aux input to the same amp, to the Dual CS503-1, which only has phono outputs. It is ideal for basic 'automatic' use. To play a record that is on the turntable, you press a play button, and it automatically finds the beginning of the record, press the stop button and it resets to the arm rest. It also has an 'arm elevation' button, which is effectively a pause function, lifting the arm until you press again. You can manually position the arm before pressing to continue. This means that you can fairly safely point other people to play your records and look cool about it.
I recommend it highly if a) you are willing to give up control of the signal that phono outputs might give you with high end amplifiers, and b) you want to make sure your partner and other friends don't destroy your collection without coming across as someone who has invested a bit too much emotion in their collection.
