Interesting, changes throughout the day.
Different and alluring. First of all, my review is going to be different than your review. Why? Because fragrances are different on everyone. What smells alluring and delicious on one lady will not smell the same on another. With that said; when I first put Arpege on, it reminds me of a little old lady using dime store perfume. But after an hour, the frangance begins to breath like a bottle of wine and then the subtle notes of honeysuckle and bergamot shine through. When afternoon hits, the fragrance changes and the notes of vanilla and amber come through. This fragrance reminds me of the 40's and pin up girls and fighter pilots. OK, I am not that old but that was a romantic time in Hollywood and that is what I feel when I wear this fragrance.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Quality Perfume at a Fantastic Price
I was a little hesitant to purchase the reconstructed formula in the black bottle as I have the original formulation of this scent based on the 1927 formula. People, let me tell you, it is just as beautiful as before but more modern and easier to wear, and the sandalwood dry down is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! If I didn't have so many perfumes already I would order a back-up bottle in a flash. Every bit as good and well made as a niche fragrance and often a lot better too.
