Stihl 066 chainsaws can be powerful tools for performing heavy tasks. Stihls can be suitable for everyday use in the yard but can also be up to the job of felling trees. These Stihls are saws that can cut enough firewood to heat a home for the winter or clean up downed trees or debris after a storm. The Stihl 066 is designed to be used with any one of three types of bars in a variety of lengths. The three types are the Rollomatic with a chain pitch of .375 inches, the Rollomatic with a pitch of .404 inches, and the Duromatic with a pitch of .375 inches. The Rollomatics are intended for most consumer use, including the big tasks that some homeowners will have to perform. The Duromatics are made of a very strong variety of stainless steel and are intended for heavy duty use. They can be appropriate for construction workers, first responders, or anyone else who does heavy cutting work on a regular basis. The Rollomatic with a pitch of .375 is available in lengths from 16 inches to 36 inches. With a .404 pitch, it comes in lengths from 20 inches to 42 inches. The Duromatic can be found in lengths from 16 inches to 24 inches. Stihl strongly recommends that the 066 be fitted with low kickback chains. This Stihl model 066 chainsaw gets its power from a single cylinder, two stroke engine. The engine has a displacement of 91.6 cubic centimeters. The engine runs on a mixture of gasoline and oil in a 50:1 mix. Stihl recommends a regular grade of unleaded gasoline mixed with an engine oil designed for two stroke engines. The fuel capacity of the saw is 1.74 pints. The chainsaw also requires bar oil, with a capacity of .67 pints. Dust and debris are kept out of the engine with an air filter. A standard mesh filter works well for typical conditions, and an HD filter is for very dry or dusty conditions. The Stihl chainsaw 066 is started by means of a recoil starter mechanism. The chainsaw is intended to be operated with two hands at all times. The chainsaw has a weight of 16.1 pounds without the bar, and the chains can achieve a top speed of 45 mph, so it requires a firm grip. There are a number of safety features built into these saws to help protect you and bystanders. The chain brake will stop the rotation when the saw is idling. It also provides protection against kickback. The chain catcher keeps the moving part from being thrown back if it breaks or comes loose. The chainsaw also has front and rear hand guards to keep your hands from contacting the cutting surfaces. Finally, the 066 is equipped with anti vibration technology to minimize the stress of prolonged use. If you need a chainsaw for medium to heavy use, the Stihl 066 may be right for you. Stihl 066 bad buy
