Designed specifically to be used on the fairway, Ping has designed the G15 Fairway Wood Golf Club to be solid and forgiving with a low profile. The PING G15 Fairway Wood Golf Club is constructed of soft, durable 17-4 stainless steel with an elongated-low profile. The low-profile design creates low spin. With a larger head, this design makes the club easier to hit from a variety of lies on the golf course. The head of the club has a more triangular shape than its predecessors and helps to increase the MOI and improve off-center hits. An external weight pad on the sole moves the center of gravity lower and farther back which results in a higher, longer trajectory. The draw-biased design of the golf club helps to eliminate a slice. The sole of the G15 Golf Club is red, black and silver inscribed with the words, “PING G15”. Painted on the black head of the club are red triangle alignment aids offered to assist the golfer in achieving the correct position at the tee. The PING G15 Fairway Wood Golf Club has a head size that is line with most modern club’s in this category and does not feel like a mini-driver. The face of the Ping G15 features a large sweet spot that inspires confidence, even without a perfect swing. Unlike traditional woods, wedges, or irons the PING G15 provides an authoritative, “crack” sound on impact instead of the usual “thud”. Golf balls struck with the PING G15 Fairway Wood provide the golfer with a solid sound that is more audible and deeper than traditional woods. The PING G15 Fairway Wood Golf Club comes with two graphite shaft options: either the Ping TFC149F shaft or the Aldila Serrano 75 shaft. Each has several available versions, such as Regular, Stiff, and Xtra Stiff depending on the golfer’s swing. The golf club’s grip is textured rubber with helpful alignment markings. It is also possible to order a custom club with other shaft and grip options. The PING ID8 standard grip is featured on most of the company’s hybrids, woods and irons and offers a comfortable and familiar feel. The PING G15 Fairway Wood Golf Club comes in a variety of lofts. The G15 golf clubs are available for both right-handed and left-handed golfers. The PING Fairway Wood flies straight, long and feels great on impact. The G15 series appeals to the majority of golfers who rely on the easier-to-hit attributes of a club with maximum forgiveness. The G15 series also provides a higher launch type of club.
