With the support of his doting grandmother, Santiago travels to England, and finds himself in a world where football is king, and footballers are Gods. But his path to stardom is tortuous and paved with pitfalls; and he must overcome a terrible tryout, a secret asthma condition, and the animosity of some of his teammates. Picking up where the first left off, GOAL 2 is a continuation of Santiago's story, as he gets to grips with playing for a premiership team and is exposed to the temptation and privilege his new found fame brings. A lucrative transfer to Real Madrid places Santiago alongside some of the world's greatest players but creates a gulf between him and Boz (Anna Friel).
