Tumultuous Towers
For me 'Fawlty Towers' is probably the funniest programme of all time. Brilliant comic writing is matched by outstanding performances by the entire cast. If anything i think the second series even surpasses the first in its brilliance. The extras are also illuminating. I was very surprised to find out that Connie Booth is an American as she sounds so authentically English in the show! Of course one reason it is so good is that it burned brightly but for a short time - even the greatest television must begin to decline after years and decades of programmes. Not Faulty And It Towers Over All The Comediess
The quality of the DVDs is not too bad. There is no distortion in sound and vision on any of the episode's. I found them very watchable. They came well packaged/shrink wrapped and they arrived on time. It is good to have a classic comedy that is not subjected to the political correctness police and their heavy handed approach to practically everything. Classic Cleese!
This is one of the BEST comedy series of all time. Cleese at the TOP of his career. Supporting cast unbelievably funny too (and that goes for the hotel guests too). Extras are well worth the time to view. Always good to pull this collection out to cheer you up in the cold, winter nights. If you've never seen this series then you have been missing sore ribs and aching sides so what are you waiting for..... buy it! P.S.
