Dial is too small to see clearly .
It works but is very small so difficult to read . From the picture on the website I couldn't tell what size the dial was . Next time I will pay more for one with a larger dial and which indicates what are the safe temperatures for meat etc, There was no helpful ' List ' of temperatures for various foods .Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Tiny; plastic cover that melts; but it's cheap.
It's "value" in the sense that it's cheap, and you get what you pay for. However, the face is tiny -- other reviews warned of this, but I didn't realise how tiny -- which means you can't see the face thru the oven window; but the instant you open the oven the reading drops precipitously. So, while it will work as a meat thermometer, it's not much good for oven temperature. Furthermore, it has a plastic (not glass) cover, which melts when the oven is hot!! Mine distorted and as a result the needle stuck. I levered it off with a knife though, so now I have a coverless thermometer (that still seems to work).Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This little meat thermometer seems well made, accurate and responsive. Although the dial is only an inch across, it's easy to read.
