  • Compact, well built mower but mine is hard to start.

Good little compact mower but not so easy to start as suggested. The instructions tell you to pump the primer 5 times with the throttle lever forward but a sticker on the frame suggests you put the lever to the middle! You do have to pull the cord very fast and my mower takes several pulls to get it going. My wife has no chance! Hot re starts are worse. There is no information on this. I have tried all combinations from throttle fully open, middle and slow. Prime and no prime. All attempts result in pulling your arm off to get it going. Once its running its very smooth and a nice reliable slow idle. It cuts well and collects well. The self propel mechanism is a bit clunky and abrupt but I tend to push it along and then engage the drive which is smoother. I think it's good value for the money. Time will tell. This is the first brand new petrol mower I have had, having had several second hand ones including an Suffolk Punch, Qualcast and for the last 20 years a Mountfield Empress 16. All of these have been easier to start. I have only had the mower a week now and will contact the customer services to see what they can offer.

  • Good value mower

My basic Mountfield mower was getting old so bought this mower, however, this mower is slightly bigger than my old mover. Starts and works fine, not sure I like the self propelled function, will give it more time before I remove the mechanism. There is lots of competition in mowers of this price range, good mower but can't see it becoming the market leader.

  • a great little machine

my expensive flymo backfired and wrecked the starter recoil cover I found this wonderful machine on line,it was at a good price and the delivery was second to none,i have been playing with it today and I cannot find any fault with it at all its a pleasure to use and a lot quieter than my old one(which is now in the tip)sometimes when you see something that's a lot cheaper you tend to think is it worth it but I think that this is a real bargain at the price, you don't have to assemble it as it comes already assembled the only thing that you have to do is bolt the handles on which is very easy, all in all top marks to the company that made it and the delivery service
