This device offers pre-standard PoE (Power over Ethernet) support through the detection of power to PoE devices within your networking system. Enjoy the ability to achieve jumbo frames on Gigabit and 10-Gigabit ports. This function allows for high-performance remote backup and disaster-recovery services in an emergency. The ProCurve/IEEE Auto-MDIX feature performs any adjustments necessary for straight-through or crossover cables on any of your 10/100/1000BASE-T ports automatically. With the HP 3500YL switch, you are able to achieve 802.3af PoE. This provides you with up to 15.4 watts per port power for all PoE compliant devices. These devices include IP phones, security cameras, and wireless access points. As a 5400ZL series product, the 3500YL J8693A switches from Hewlett Packard are hot swappable modules. This means that the switches can be changed out without any disruption to the power supply or networking. The use of IEEE 802.1X technology utilities and an 802.1X supplicant in combination with a RADIUS server provides an industry standard way of authenticating a user.
