Almost perfect!
As the owner of an M1 MacBook Air who's new to this sort of desk setup, the number of displays I've gone through over these past few weeks has been absurd. Whether another from Lenovo or an LED Cinema Display from Apple, none of them played nicely with my new Mac, oftentimes glitching and randomly shutting off only a minute into a use session. With just two ports at my disposal, charging, mirroring and transferring sound at once was difficult and required far too many adapters. And above all that, their image quality just wasn't that great.
Finally, I realised that what I needed was a USB-C monitor, and this is the real deal! Setup could not be any easier: just supply power to the monitor and connect the laptop using the supplied USB-C cable, and Bob's your uncle! Sure, it lacks the speakers and camera that my previous monitors had, but it also doesn't demand anywhere near the number of cables and adapters to make them work, so I can figure that out later. The image quality is excellent - dare I say Retina Display-esque when viewed from a reasonable distance.
And I suppose that's the one of the only issues I have with this monitor: The gargantuan base of the stand as well as the forward slant of the arm make it so that the monitor is much closer to one's face than one might desire, which isn't particularly welcome if, like mine, your desk isn't very deep. As I understand it, this has been resolved with the most recent version of this monitor, so don't let this deter you! Personally, I'll be searching for one of those stands to make my monitor a bit easier on my eyes.
Secondly, as I type this, I just began noticing a faint but constant noise that's emitted from the monitor when powered on. It's probably going to drive me mad, but hopefully it's an easy fix, because otherwise this monitor is exactly what I've been searching for.
