An ode to Chicago, but much more
Why does this film always make me cry, and why do I revisit it, with the same expectation? A science fiction exercise, perhaps, but the plot really takes a forwards and backwards view of ancestry, and loss of family. Alma, the daughter, is especially engaging. I always like the marriage scene, the first dance where a small orchestra plays "Love will tear us apart again". Time travel always have to obey the rules, that nothing can change the past.
