About this product

Product Information

Enjoy capturing unforgettable images the old-school way with the Polaroid 420 Instant Film Camera. This model, also known as a land camera, was made in the 1970s and comes in a self-contained case. To remove the cover on these cameras, simply push a well-marked tab at the junction. When you open the cover, you'll find the camera and a cold clip, which you can use to warm the film when shooting in cold weather. The 114 mm f/8.8 2-element plastic lens is seated in a plastic housing. At the top right of this vintage automatic Polaroid device, you will find a bracket that is used to hold cube flash bulbs. This camera is also compatible with flash setups that come equipped with PC cables. The PC cable port is on the front right of the lens housing. The battery compartment is seated on the side of the unit and holds one 3V battery. On the upper left is a tab labeled with a number 1. This tab releases the folding bellows. To push the bellows back in, simply press lightly on the metal arm and the bellows will release. You can then snap the plastic cover back on to close the land camera. At the bottom of the unit is a switch, which will open the back of the Polaroid. This will reveal the space to install your new pack of automatic film. This camera uses Fujifilm FP-100C or FP-100B color film and Fujifilm FP-3000B black & white professional film. On the top of the extended lens piece, there's a switch for telling the Polaroid which film you're using. At the top of the Polaroid unit, you will find the rangefinder focus tool. This presents the user with a double image that merges into one as you manually focus. There are two levers located just beneath the rangefinder that move the bellows, focusing the image. Seated next to the rangefinder is the viewfinder. This model has frame lines and automatic parallax compensation for capturing the focused images. Compose your picture within the frame lines to make sure that each shot comes out just like you planned. Once you have your shot, press the shutter button. Located on the top of the unit, the button is a conspicuous red color and has the number 2 printed on it.In order to capture just the right amount of light, there's an automatic shutter that offers speeds between 1/1200 of a second and 10 seconds. The aperture priority mode gives you more control over a shot. As you set the mode, the Polaroid camera automatically sets the shutter speed. This model has four different film speed settings, including 75, 150, 300, and 3000 ASA. There's also a lighten/darken control and an exposure compensation dial of -1/+2.Once the instant photo has been taken, a tab will emerge out from the side of the land camera. Pull it out and you will have the photo and negative. You can enjoy the automatic development process. Simply wait the specified time given on the film packet and your instant Polaroid photograph will emerge.

  • Good and clean poloroid camera!

I wasn’t able to figure out if the lack of quality photos was from the camera or my film. The camera seems to be in good working order so i believe it is the film (still experimenting)
