Introduced in 2002, the Ibanez RGT42 has traditionally featured a solid body with a neck-through-body construction. RG stands for Roadstar Guitar, and T identifies it as a neck-through model. Built in Korea and distributed worldwide, these electric guitars feature 24 frets to allow for extra variation in tones and a wider spread of sound. The top of these guitars is laminated to create a smooth finish. The neck profile is flat and thin, making it easier to play rock tunes without fumbling. As expected from an instrument belonging to the Roadstar Guitar lineup, the RGT42 electric guitar is suited towards powerful electric riffs and hurls out crunchy, clean tones.Play music with style and finesse on the Ibanez RGT42 guitar. Offering excellent dynamics and enhanced midrange output thanks to its Infinity 1 and Infinity 2 bridge pickups, this Ibanez electric guitar produces a crisp, clear sound. The guitar fretboard is rosewood with bindings for style purposes, and the neck is composed of a five-piece combination of rosewood and maple pieces. As far as humbuckers go, the Infinity accessories are highly effective here. The Infinity 1 sits at the neck pickup position and offers pure, classic tones with a precise rhythmic sound that retains purity and pitch even when overclocked. The Infinity 2 supplements this at the bridge of these guitars with an improved midrange output and an inherent Alnico 5 magnet to give each individual string clarity. These pickups give excellent dynamics and are suited for lead positions, but they can also be modified by changing their height to create a range of variations. The 24 jumbo frets on these Ibanez guitars result in easy play for rhythm as well as leads. Moreover, the solid mahogany body gives out rich warm lows and a sweet sustain, ideal for soft rock, hard rock, and even heavy metal. This Ibanez guitar is also versatile enough to serve any musical purpose with a little tuning. In particular, changing the location of the pickups with the 5-way lever is a great way to produce tones you wouldn't expect out of a rock guitar. Shifting to only the neck pickup will create grittier, crunchier music best suited to punk or metal, while using the bridge pickup will create mellower, clearer sounds more tailored towards country or gospel music. You'll get great treble and bass sounds across the range from these guitars, with adjustable volume and distortion.As suited to a line known for being favored by rockers, this electric guitar is incredibly durable and can often handle being banged against a wall or dropped during a gig, and the buckle for the shoulder strap is hardy as well. Part of this is due to the solid body itself, but particularly important is the fact that these instruments are made from the wings of American basswood, curved and shaped precisely so that most impacts will glance off one of the sleek edges. The Deluxe inlay gives the notes these guitars produce, while three separate volume controls allow you to limit or maximize your sound output. Ibanez guitars rock! The Wizard neck are a absolute joy to shred. This RG350MZ has an edge zero 2 tremolo which makes new string installation much easier on a Floyd Rose type of tremolo to get it in tune. This guitar has the metallic green finish and seems to be a little rare to find which is part of the reason I snagged this one up. As for the pick ups, im actually quite impressed with these Ibanez Infinity HSH and with the maple fingerboard they have some bite and plenty of punch.
