Kevin Smith directed the pilot episode of this wildly imaginative slacker comedy-cum-fantasy series. Bret Harrison returns for another go-around as Sam Oliver, the twentysomething who dropped out of college because it "made him sleepy" and seemed destined to spend the rest of his days working at a Home Depot-like warehouse store until Satan (Ray Wise) showed up and explained that, due to a series of soul-pact shenanigans, the horned one is in fact Sam's rightful owner. Now, in Season Two, Sam continues his job as a Reaper, a sort of heroic bounty hunter tasked with retrieving mischievous souls that have escaped from eternal damnation, capturing them in vessels forged in the depths of Hell to resemble ordinary objects such as vacuum cleaners and Zippo lighters. Happily assisting their overwhelmed pal in his deathly duties are Sam’s braver-than-he-looks slacker buddy, Sock (Tyler Labine), and the beautiful and ever-loyal Andi (Missy Peregrym). Fun story about a group of late teen friends battle against the Devil who it turns out is the father of 2 of them. Or is he ? Watch it and see.
This great fun series was sadly ended after 2 seasons. Although it was shown on British TV it was never released on region 2 DVD’s so not sold in Britain. The cast of actors were excellently chosen and I think the series was wrongly killed off.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

One of the funniest and most original comedy shows ever.
I managed to watch the excellent Reaper when it was originally shown years ago and it's been a hunt to get both series at a fair price since as they're only on Region 1 dvds so had to be imported. But now I finally have both series and they're even funnier than I remember. Not only are all the cast immensely likeable, the scripts amusing, and the settings original - but the SFX are superb, and in the case of Tyler Labine's Sock character you literally have one of the funniest characters ever put on TV. And I don't say that lightly. It is an absolute travesty this series was cancelled after only 2 series due to poor advertising so US audiences weren't aware of its genius and didn't watch it enough. Hopefully someone at Amazon or Netflix will realise it should be saved and sign it up for a third season - but it's a long shot sadly. So at least buy these 2 seasons, get some friends round and see one of the most underrated and hilarious shows ever shown!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
