Product Information
The Canon Canonet 28 was first introduced on the market in the 1970s as a consumer-friendly accessory. It served as one of the last heavyweight compact cameras as the onset of the transition from metal to plastic bodies took place. This camera has several features that will help you take better-quality photos. Front and center on the body, there is the fixed 40-millimeter f/2.8 effects lens fitted with a CdS lightmeter. If the lightmeter cannot find sufficient lighting, the exposure button will not let you make an exposure. That's when the exposure indicator will let you know to attach a flash. This Canonet is compatible with Canolite D automatic flashes. The lens has a focus ring and an aperture ring, which has a small lever on the side. If you set the aperture dial on a setting other than automatic, the shutter speed will be fixed at 1/30 of a second. This is a rangefinder, so it uses double image matching to focus. The viewfinder is a marked finder with .6 magnification and has parallax correction marks. At the side of the lens is the ISO setting, which is a sensitivity gauge that tells you how much light is needed to make a good exposure. You can also use this tool to create and remove grain from the finished photo. This camera features a copal leaf shutter, which has a higher flash sync time than its focal plane counterparts. There is no shutter speed dial because this is a fully programmed, automatic exposure camera. It will choose a speed ranging from 1/30 to 1/600.On the top of this Canon are the shutter release button, the counter, a mounting for a flash, a roll rewind wheel, and the film advance lever, which also opens the cartridge compartment. Inside are the cartridge seat, the sprocket that will guide the film, and the take-up spool, which will house the undeveloped exposures. This Canon model takes a 48-millimeter filter size. You can also use 49-millimeter lens caps. There are two lanyard hooks on the sides of the Canonet cameras for attaching a strap. This 35mm rangefinder camera has a very useful film wind confirmation dial next to the viewfinder. This window lets you know if you have loaded your roll properly. The flash works with a manual control of f-stops while the film speed is between 25 to 400 ASA. On the bottom of the camera are the release button, a seating to connect a tri-pod, and battery chamber. This Canon camera uses 1.35V mercury batteries, type PX-625.A compact, lightweight piece, this Canonet measures 4.7 by 3 by 2.5 inches and weighs 1.3 pounds, so you can easily carry it around for shooting outdoor or street photography. Whether you're a vintage camera enthusiast who enjoys collecting older models or you're a photographer looking to add some old-style charm to your photos, the Canonet 28 is sure to please. Simply add a compatible lens of your choice, and this film camera makes a great addition to your gear bag.Product Identifiers
