CLEARLY ARCAM
ARCAM Hi-Fi is reputedly "Top Gear". Their CD players won all the plaudits back in the day when they were launched and the ALPHA 7 Special Edition was their Top Model. Unfortunately they were a little too expensive for me back then, I had to buy a Technics. The Alpha 7 SE provides more clarity, detail, and musicality than I've ever heard before, It is connected to an Arcam Alpha 8 amp and AE109 speakers, resulting in an excellent sound stage at all volume levels. I'm not an audiophile, but I know what sounds good to me, and considering this is a 20 year old cd player, this Arcam 7se unit sounds amazing, Compared to other CD players I've had in the past. And it blows streaming quality music out of the park. You can hear every detail of a song or piece of music, in amazing depth and clarity.
