Great in my home studio
I have been recording music at home for over 30 years. I used to use passive monitors along with a power amp, but frequently had rattling and crackling in my speakers. I downsized my studio for simplicity and after doing much research, I decided the Yamaha HS5’s looked like a good fit for my price range. These deliver plenty of volume and clarity for my home studio.... They can go loud enough to feel the vibration and bug the neighbors and my girlfriend . More importantly, they sound wonderful. I put different genres through these from acoustic guitar, rock, electronic to classical. Everything sounded really nice through them. I also thought the bass was just fine in the HS5, some go for the larger HS7’s or 8 because they are worried there won't be enough bass, but those are alot more expensive and in my opinion perhaps overkill for the average home studio. Great studio speakers for an beginner/intermediate user in the studio, I suggest using trs balanced cables to insure the safety of the speakers, they provide a substantial amount of low frequency bass and sustain a higher frequency signals as well, over all the affordability and the quality of this product are great for any studio application, i truly enjoy the crispness of the sound and look forward to upgrading to the hs8 for more power and sound in the futureVerified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Perfect workstation speakers.

Great Speakers with one issue
