Made it easy to count a bunch of coins!

this made counting a water jug full of change an easy task. Just a heads up - I had a couple of silver dollars and they clogged up the works a bit. Easy to solve, but would have been better if I had taken them out of the mix before I started.

You get what you pay for!

Although I did end up taking it apart to clear "coin jams" several times, I managed to roll over $200 in a couple of hours. Don't turn the crank handle too fast. I believe, if this product were made of stronger material, it would be a wonderful machine. You get what you pay for, nothing more.

  • Coin Sorter

I have waited many years for one of these coin sorters. The electric ones you see around Xmas look and feel cheaply made. This Royal Sovereign is manual but it does the job and I don't have to stock batteries. The instructions specify the pre-formed coin holders, but based on another reviiew I tried the old ones you get from your bank for free, and they work. I did find you need to make some cuts around one end of the package so they can be folded down to the length of the plastic coin holders or the coins will bounce right off. Delivery was fast and product as described, except it is plastic but sturdy. Saves time and money, pun intended :)

  • Coin Sorter,

We ordered a clear coin sorter but they shipped the black one, to would be great to see the coins going round and being sorted, the unit works very good, follow the instruction to make sure the coins are loose and freely moving to reduce binding the machine.

  • Royal Sovereign QS-1 Manual Coin Sorter

This machine works great. It is so easy to use. You will get a jam if you turn the handle too fast and if you turn the handle at a steady pace it will work just fine most of the time. If you do happen to get a jam, just turn the handle backwards a half of a turn and then forward again and this will fix the jam most of the time, if not, you may have to turn i upside down and shake until it falls out or use something flat to push the coin around the opening to UN-jam it. I would highly recommend this product for all your coin sorting needs. You can also use the flat coin wrappers you get free from the bank. After the tube fills with coins, you just open the wrapper and slide it in the tube side ways as the coins tilt at an angle and slightly shake as you push the wrapper into the tube around the coins. If you take your time and have a little patience, it works great with out the extra cost of prefabricated tubes.

  • Works better if you take off the top.

It gets jammed up easy. Took the 3 screws off, then took the top off, and watched it worked and caught the jam before it happens. You can pour in a cup of coins, and it'd work. :-) Easy to put together again.

  • Jams and how to fix

At first it was him all the time and I would take the cover off take the wheel off fix the jam put it back together and start over. Then eventually I tried it without the cover on and it never jammed again or if it would it was so easy to fix I highly recommend take the cover off put the wheel on and just go to town

  • Great Coin Sorter

This machine works fantastic. For the price it costs it does the job. Wrapped up over two hundred dollars in coins in about two hours. Coin sleeves from the dollar store fit in it and it is so easy to use. You fill the coin tubes up level with the top of the plastic tubes for the correct amount. If you have a small postal scale put it on oz and weigh 4.6 oz for pennies in the roll wrapper...4 oz for dimes...6 oz for nickles...and 8 oz for quarters. If you get a foreign coin or a dollar coin it gets stuck. Solved by taking out tubes...remove the handle...turn upside down and shake till it comes out. This is the only negative I have with this product. 100% of the time the coin came out. I even got a button that was in the change I dumped in. It came out also. Would highly recommend this product for all you coin sorting needs.

  • Doesnt know how to count

I rolled what I thought was $96 of Pennies, nickles, dimes and quarters. Took them to the bank and they said there was a problem cause the rolls were not the same size as theirs. Instead of counting all of them, they took them and said there would be an adjustment make in 5 - 7 days. After 6 days they made a deposit of $86.37. Every roll was short and I rolled them as instructed. Thought I was saving money by buying the machine and not paying the $11 for coinstar. Well turned out it was another bad investment.
