    Great watch built tough

I took my time researching many different divers watches. It was down to citizen or seiko and I chose the citizen due to the unique blue face and its many positive reviews. I have had the watch about 3 weeks now and I love everything about the fit finish and versatility of the watch. I would give the Promaster Diver watch 5 stars, if not for one major design flaw.....the date window is very small and not backlite. I'm challenged whenever I need to refer to it for the date, and have to pull out my phone when I have forgotten the days date, which is an inconvenience. Outside of the date window issue, the watch looks and feels rugged, I updated the band to stainless steel which adds to it already phenomenal aesthetic!

Nice for the price, wish I would have gotten a black one. Oh well...

Not crazy about the blue band, (color and fit). I've tried 2 other bands that I purchased and I don't like either of them.

  • Great watch for watersports, true 200m DIVE rated, and looks classic, too.

I have other Citizen Dive watches, and a Seiko Monster - Eco Drive watches are the least fussy and easiest to own. This watch has great lume, better than the Monster, and is easily read in pitch dark. It's smooth under a cuff and has classic styling, not glitzy or overdone. It's a great example of the current trend toward deemphasized styling, instead of the overwrought and chunky testosterone fueled look at me Diver watches that were pushed over the last ten years. (Invicta, you know what you did - and the higher end Seiko and Citizens were simply a bit more restrained.) It was as if Americans needed an obese watch to go along with their McD's habit. The 4:00 crown gets the stem away from the center of your wrist so that it's more comfortable when working actively with it, the Date in that position is simple concession to the works being rotated. Citizen did consider having some lume at that pip and it does work well. It's keeping excellent time, about a half second fast in three weeks. I have two other Citizen Eco Drives and they average about 20-30 seconds fast a year. Not a week like the Seiko autos. That reduces the constant weekly corrections I previously suffered to the odd month with 30 days, or DST, a reduction of about 75% and that much less wear and tear on the stem. I don't know who would be so aggressive as to actually pull one out or break it off - I guess it could happen - but knowing you would could eliminate 3 out of 4 time corrections a month should be given some consideration. Other than dropping it, it's high on the list of how to monkey up a watch. The dark blue is very subtle on this model, but keep in mind that while it's been popular it's also showing a bit less price appreciation - the black model seems to be getting ahead $10-15. That's also an incentive for those who are frugal - if you don't want to pay the current premium for black, pick up the navy blue. Photos online show it far brighter than it really is. At 6 feet indoors, nobody points at your glowing blue watch and comments. It's a dark navy in real life. When the lights do get low, tho, the lume is apparent. I currently have it on a navy with orange stripe MN style strap I reworked to the "EO" lacing, it's not too heavy and sits where I put it. The blues match closely and the orange stripe brings out the orange minute hand as a subtle complement, unlike the almost garish blaze orange silicon straps seen on some tropical divers.(Guilty!) Fine if you are diving or on the beach, a multipurpose watch for numerous settings could stand some quiet refinement and this at least attempts some.

  • Good quality watch for all occasions.

It is easily readable, accurate, waterproof, solid and has a fuss-free eco drive system. It is a quality watch at a very reasonable price. My Citizen eco-drive Skyhawk is still going strong after 15 years and is amazingly accurate. The only improvements I would like to see are a slightly larger date display and sapphire instead of mineral glass.

  • Great solar divers watch

This is my second citizen divers watch. The first one my father gave me in 1996 . It still works perfect today. But I wanted a new one when I saw it came in blue. This one’s perfect for me. I never write reviews but I have to do one on this one. I snorkel a lot in the keys so it’s a perfect watch for me. It looks great,it keeps perfect time. The battery lasts a long time. I love solar power never need a battery. Replacement bands are available from Citizen. you’ll need them the watch outlast the bands I’m on my third. Cheers from Ann Arbor. Jake

  • Great diving approved watch at a good price!

The eco-drive battery system is the great thing about this watch for me. It keeps time nicely and seems to be reliable and water proof so far. I will hopefully check out its scuba diving ability soon. The rotating bezel works fine, but could use complete notching all around the circumference for a bit more grip-ability. Overall, I like it.

  • Great watch!

Among the best watch I've ever owned. Keeps perfect time....I put it in the window at time to charge the solar battery. I wear it a lot outside working at my home. Fits just perfect. Very nice color. Neat thing about it is, when I wear it at night in my pitch dark bedroom, this watch glows brightly ALL NIGHT! I can actually use it to see by if I wanted. Never had a watch that glowed this bright ever....and it's a nice blue color that glows. Great watch to own, great watch to wear....I love not having to have to replace batteries or having an automatic that I have to wear all the time, which requires wrist movements to keep wound. This one is powered by solar energy, and I wish all watches had this feature. One nice beautiful watch to own...I'm perfectly satisfied with it.

Overall the watch itself is in great condition. Works well, and looks great on the wrist. box and display all in great condition as well. Only issue I have is the strap. Fits great, but it smells heavily of cologne, to the point it triggers my allergies. Going to have to order a new strap and trash the one it came with.

  • Best....

Best & Most genius feature ever put on a watch, the Eco Drive ! This is my second Eco Drive. My first one, (Nighthawk) given to me by my wife as a birthday last August 2003... Up until now, 2016, 13 years later, still keeps accurate time, never stops, keeps on going.

  • Great value diving watch

What you get with that item is a great looking diving watch. I did scuba diving 3 times at different depth using that watch and it stays easy to read and no problem with salt on the strap (Sometimes the strap become white, especially with black strap on non expensive watches). It is easy to read and is a no non-sense time piece which works very well for its intended purpose, scuba diving. Because it is not too big, there is no problem using it on land as well and it looks pretty good. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and it is an excellent value for $$$.
