Great controller! Can be complicated to set up.
Really great controller. -1 star as it can be complicated to get the zones just right. If you use the Flex Monthly or Flex Daily schedule types you have to play around with the parameters to get it to water at a reasonable interval and time per zone. I don’t know where they get the algorithm for the Flex schedules but they can cause you to over water... but fun to play around getting it right... just takes patience and time to “trick it” into an interval and time that is more reality based watering schedule... much better than the RB controllers by far... The absolute best!
Had this installed for several weeks now. Very intuitive. Connects with a local weather station wirelessly and adjusts watering based on projected weather incoming. Installation was crazy easy (and I hate installing most things). I was moved to a "seasonal shift" today as indicated on my phone. Automatically waters for a bit longer during very hot periods (90 plus degrees daily here). Best Sprinkler controller on the market
This is one of 5 I have either purchased for my mothers home, my home, or my children and a friend. YES, they are that good! Easy to program and saving money for all the others except my home on the amount of water they use and now save. My home is watered from our lake and connected to our pump but gets the same benefit regarding the weather so our yard is not double soaked after a rain. The best thing about this controller is for those on sloped land, once you tell it about that zone and how much slope you think you have it will turn on and off then go to another zone for a few so it allows the water to soak in and then comes back to either add more or finish based on water needed for that zone. Again, best on the market and love them all and since i can see them and set them up on my phone can transfer them to the owner or i can share it to help if they have questions.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Almost perfect
I would give this 4.5 stars but I can't. The controller is easy to setup and takes the guess work out of watering your lawn. It's not perfect because it depends on your knowledge of your lawn. THis saved my garden
I just love this controller, it is so easy to setup and using the app makes watering my garden so simple. I had an old controller, turn the dial to perform the next action, the dial was loose, I could never get it to work right. This controller is so easy to set-up and use, you can even save pictures against each zone so you know which one it is. when a product is exceeds your expectations, then you have to say something. I bought this rachio sprinkler controller to make scheduling easier, since my sprinkler controller is in my basement. not only is it very easy to program from my phone, but it actually checks the weather prior to each schedule, and if its going to rain, it will alter or skip that day's schedule based on the info it retrieves from the internet. its so much more than a simple controller, since my original controller could only stop that day's watering if it was actually raining at the same time.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works great but reserve a few hours to learn and set it up
This is definitely a high-tech controller. I recommend connecting it to WiFi and registering with Rachio service before the actual installation in your garage or yard. This will guarantee no surprises when you install it: just connect the wires, plug in power supply and start creating your schedule. I found that doing the last step was easier with a computer browser rather than a mobile device. The basic configuration was pretty much plug-and-play. However to take advantage of the advanced features and achieve maximum water savings you may need to do a little more reading and research - YMMV.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good product, easy to install, easy to programme once you get it on line. Be aware this unit requires a 2.4Gh z WIFI system to operate. Also rainfall and flow are in British units gallons & inches) no big deal but be aware. Flow measurement, from what I can make out, requires an ultrasonic or some other form of 2 wire meter and these are expensive so probably water flow may not be an option for most people. Great controller and rebate makes it a bargain
Had an old manual controller that this replaced. To test a zone with the manual controller I was constantly running back and forth between the zone and the garage. The Rachio makes testing as simple as an icon on your smartphone. Too many other great features to mention, but automatic rain delays are a definite standout, as well as the ability to tap into local weather stations.
