About this product

Product Information

"The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" game is the 16th entry into the historic Legend of Zelda series from Nintendo. Despite being the 16th entry, this Nintendo game still feels original thanks to a host of inventive ideas. One of these ideas involves the use of a unique game story that strays from the typical conventions of the original Zelda series. Rather than focus its tale on defeating the evil Ganon, the game instead revolves around new antagonist characters Demise and Ghirahim. Additionally, the adventure takes place in the sky kingdom of Skyloft rather than Hyrule. When Zelda is kidnapped and taken to the world below the clouds, Link must venture into this mysterious land to rescue her.The first thing gamers will notice about this Nintendo release is that the controls are unlike any other Zelda game. While past Legend games like "Twilight Princess" and "The Wind Waker" had you attacking with the buttons, "Skyward Sword" is different. This Legend game uses the Wii MotionPlus to have gamers control Link via motion control on the Wii remote. You'll swing the Wii MotionPlus controller in the direction you want the hero to swing. For example, swing from left to right and your character will do the same. This innovative control scheme allows for precise attacks against enemies in the game.Navigation in "Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" for Nintendo Wii is also different. Rather than walking from location to location, Link uses a giant bird to fly. When a location of interest is discovered, Link will plummet from the bird to explore the world underneath the clouds. "Skyward Sword" is a huge game with many different areas to find in Skyloft. If you ever feel lost at any time, you can ask Fi for assistance. Fi is the spirit who lives in your sword and will provide help in many ways. For example, she can guide you to your next location and point out a weak spot on a boss.At its core, "Skyward Sword" for the Nintendo Wii retains similarities to past games in the franchise. Players will discover classic weapons, such as the bomb and the bow. New weapons are available as well, including a whip that lets you grab items from long distances. On his quest, Link will explore treacherous locations, such as the Eldin Volcano. In each location is a dungeon that will reward him with new items and weapons. These dungeons also house dangerous bosses that drop items necessary for rescuing Zelda. This adventure will take most gamers around 40 hours to complete. However, fans who want to do everything can expect 60 hours or more of game time from this Nintendo Wii video game."The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" for Nintendo was directed by Eiji Aonuma. His previous work includes Legend of Zelda Nintendo video games, such as "Twilight Princess," "Spirit Tracks," and "Phantom Hourglass." "Skyward Sword" also features original music composed by Koji Kondo and is the first Legend of Zelda Nintendo title to use a live orchestra. "The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" is packed full of content that fans of the series will love to play time and time again. The game is also accessible to newcomers to the series thanks to its standalone story.

    Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword

IMO this game is as good as gets on the Wii. Great graphics for the system and time, great use of the Wii motion controls, and of course the story is amazing. If you are a Zelda fan, play this game. Easily in the top 5 Legend of Zelda games.

Everything is fine with the game but this did not include the anniversary music CD like it is titled in the listing. Still happy with my purchase but wish it came with the soundtrack. I love music.

  • Wonderful!

Game was for another country, but works in USA Wii and is all in English (as description stated), so no worries. Game is awesome. Not too hard, not too easy; just as I would have expected from a Zelda game! The motion controls do take a little getting use to, but playing other Wii motion plus games helps. Just make sure you have your setting right for your distance to your screen. It helps a lot! Just goes to show, just because a lot of people don't like something, doesn't always mean it's bad; just not what they expected or wanted.

  • Pretty fun

Good game so far! I'm about 3/4 of the way through. The controls were a bit wonky at first, but once you get the hang of it a lot of fun can be had. Good story with memorable characters. Can't wait for breath of the wild! Gonna be twice as epic!

  • The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword Wii review

The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword is the game that marked the 25th Anniversary of The Legend of Zelda series. This game has been both praised and criticized but overall a wonderful game. The game is said to have taken place before all the events of The Legend of Zelda games, starting the timeline that would be under scrutiny by many fans and theorists alike. The control scheme is very easy to follow once the player squeezes in some time to practice. The Wii remote acts like the sword and the nunchaku as the shield, and the combat system relies on pinpoint accuracy to strike a target with the sword and shield, not just swinging aimlessly or at random. There are also many points in the game to fly across Hyrule's skies with the bird known as a Loftwing. Multiple side quests also make this game a joy to play and never gets boring. And the enemy AI is smart so it will counter every sword swing and parry. One of the game's downsides is that the controls for the Wii remote and nunchaku can glitch out, sometimes removing and reconnecting each other could solve it temporarily. Also constant adjustment for the Wii remote's field of operation can cause certain motions to be misread. Overall, the game is a wonderful masterpiece and it is a game not to be missed by any fan of The Legend of Zelda series or any video game fan. The story is also a compelling one to the point where tears are shed. At the right price, this game can grace any gamer's game archive, and it can help to get in the swing of things.

  • Works great, awesome game!

I’m an avid Legend of Zelda fan, but I had never played Skyward Sword before. My boyfriend and I just started it last night and the game works perfectly and is really great so far!

  • This game deserves a better reputation!

A lot of people knock on Skyward Sword, but I found it to be a very well done game with a lot to come back to. The presentation is by far the finest in the series with a impressionistic touch that works even though the Wii might feel underpowered compared to the other 7th gen consoles. The music is fantastic. The gameplay takes less of a hack and slash approach and requires players to move slower and read enemy patterns while using the Wii Remote's new motion plus feature for 1-to-1 movement. There are great puzzles scattered throughout the game, and the dungeons are truly first rate. Please, don't let the motion controls push you away. Take the time to set things up properly in the console menu (calibrate the sensors), and I promise you will enjoy Skyward Sword. Oh, and the story's great!

  • Great classic game

In today’s shoot to kill world, Zelda is great, as it challenges the mind a little bit. Yes there is violence, but its balanced with skill. The music is great.

  • Blown away

I bought the game for $13. It was advertised as just the game. It was also supposed to arrive on the 8th of January. Not only did it come a day early, it also came with a case. I purchased the game for an amazing price. 11/10 would recommend.
