Most Excellent Film
Mostly filmed on location on the Nile in Egypt in the 1970s. Close-ups were filmed on a sound stage in the UK. Absolutely fantastic cast. Original book was inspired when Agatha Christie followed archaeologist husband to Egypt in the 1920s or 1930s. Her husband was later knighted for his contributions to archaeology while Agatha Christie was soon made a Dame for her contributions to mystery writing--the only English couple to be knighted for individual achievement I believe. This was one of my favorite movies growing up and watching it with my adult eyes I have to say that it doesn't disappoint! Evil Everywhere
I have loved this movie ever since I first watched in the 80's. I believe the casting was done impeccably. I love all the 'old' actors as well as the new. This is the movie that got me hooked on the rest of Agatha Christie's other movies. The scenes are just 'gorgeous' as well as the local where it was filmed. I watch the collection over and over.
