Indispensible.
This book articulates just about everything that frustrated and disturbed me about employment in the NHS with its myriad bullshit posts. And the author makes it quite clear that bullshit jobs extend way beyond the public services. In a nutshell, he explains why, for largely political reasons, useful work is scarcely valued whilst the importance of pointless work (self generating admin in particular) is grossly inflated. Perhaps it Might have been Called "Less than Useless Jobs".
Full employment has become the tail that wags the dog. We have made it so important that many jobs now exist which provide no function for Britain, apart from keeping us from a an average shorter working week. Such jobs do not increase productivity.
