Mysterious, spooky but nothing "gory", ongoing, fascinating story. Watch it!
I am 61 years old, and my favorite thing when I got off the school bus, got home (which was just before 4:00) was to know Dark Shadows would soon be on tv! Loved the settings; the Collinwood mansion in Maine, the drawing room where many a scene took place, the Old House that Barnabas acquired (or shall we say re-acquired, since to him, as a vampire of close to 200 years old, it was coming home...it used to be his home). Dark Shadows is a series always clad in a cloak of mystery; I like that. One finds it easy to get involved with the Collins family characters, and the travellers through their haunted world. It was taped live, so sometimes actors mess up their lines, but it really doesn't matter. To gradually get the dvd's is two things to me: to feel for a while like I am again that young girl at 4:00, fascinated, on the edge of my chair, as I anticipate ghosts, vampires, Victorian settings, and...in later episodes, time travel. It is also an enchanting joy to become enthralled with now at my age, disabled. I immerse myself in this world of possibilities.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
