Excellent value -lack of headband cushioning is an issue though

I'll start with the bad: The headband feels cheap and plasticky, you'll want to avoid accidentally standing on these headphones. The real issue is the lack of padding (on the headband). If you intend to wear these for extended lengths of time, you'll really want to find some (I'm going to butcher my old headphones, but a quick search reveals you can also buy replacement padding for a couple of bucks). The ear cones are large and fit snuggly around my big ears. You might have an issue if your ears are unusually large, but most folks should fine. Out-of-the-box, the sound quality is a bit too bassy -the mid and high frequencies are a little swamped and sound flat. This can easily be remedied by adjusting your equalizer (I found a gentle upwards curve starting at the middle frequency, up to +7db's for the highest frequency worked a treat). Once adjusted the sound quality is very good bordering on excellent -especially for a pair of headphones this cheap. Overall I'll give these 4-stars, they would've been an easy five if they had any sort of cushioning on the headband.

Ok for the money but pay more if you want volume with good frequency range

For the money they are ok, very comfortable and a very smooth but dull sound and are not very loud. They distort before a decent loud volume is reached, I've tried them using my phone/tablet/HiFi AMP to give them a chance with the same results. These are ok for easy listening, but if you want to hear all the highs/lows and the bits inbetween you will have to pay more.

  • Poor quality wire

I don't understand why manufacturers decide 2.5m is a good cable length. The cable breaks under the weight of itself and constantly gets in the way. My pair has started to break after light usage for a few weeks. This is not cosmetic damage but you will sometimes need to adjust the cord so the sound doesn't cut out, a major red flag for its longevity. The sound quality is muffled to provide that 'bass boost effect'. I'd highly recommend using an equaliser (easily accessible on the playstore) with treble boost features to ensure better quality sound. They don't sound bad with that.

  • Great bass, poor sound

I found for the price they are listed they are very good headphones with great bass they are also light weight enough so you don't notice you are wearing them while jogging or at the gym. The main downside to these headphones would be the sound volume and quality which is low as well as sub par. The cable management is decent but could be better. Overall 3/5 from me. wouldn't use while at the gym but would use while jogging.

  • You will not get the HA-RX300 as advertised.

You probably won't get what you order. It appears the excellent HA-RX300 has been replaced with the lower quality HA-RX330 although it's still being advertised as the 300 model. The new version has very flimsy twin leads, which get tangled very easily. The original 300 version had a single lead on the left side which was more substantial and much more practical. Very disappointing that JVC changed a successful design.

  • Great lightweight headphone

Good large ear cups, surrounds my whole ear and lightweight design on your head but the wires sort of branch out instead of going to one side (which is a personal preference) and no cushioning at the top but I guess you cant have them all.

  • Poor sound quality

Although these are comfortable and lightweight the sound quality is very poor and the volume isn't good either! Even when the volume is full I can still here everything that's going on around me, and its not the device I'm using as I have tried on many other devices. If you want quality sound and a decent volume, these are not for you......

  • Comfortable and light to wear but disappointing volume output. Spend more money

Comfortable to wear and very light but you can see why they are cheap from the sound reproduction. Have to have volume on device turned up to full on to appreciate any kind of decent sound. Don't buy if you want booming sound and deep bass. Probably ideal volume for young children but the ear pieces would be too large. My previous JVC headphones were great and were still going welll after 5 years these are a dissapointment but for the price they will do for now untill I have a bit more money to purchase a quality pair

  • Good full size headphones.

These are good headphones. I've bought 4 of them for my kids - the sound is good and they are very comfortable to use - even for long periods of time. The previous generation (same model) had a swivel joint a the earphones that broke after a year or so (which is a reasonable period in my opinion) but the latest generation has a fixed joint. - This might be slightly less comfortable to some but it adds durability. Also - they offer a very good value for your money.

  • Good sound quality and comfortable.

Sound quality: Good. The bass boost is noticeable but it can sound unpleasant when there are intermittent sounds which are boosted and sound like static sometimes, lowering the volume helps. Comfort. Good. They rest atop the head like any normal headphones, frame is adjustable and flexible by design for larger heads. Weight: Not bad. The part of the frame that rests atop the head is hollow so no standing hairs after long usage, although it will still flatten the hair.
