Easy-to-use, high-quality 4K CCTV system.
This is actually my second 4K ZOSI system after being so impressed with my first purchase, I decided to get another set.
Firstly, when connected to a 4K monitor, the high-quality resolution really shines, you can easily distinguish faces and even license plates from ~30 metres away. The framerate is locked at 20 fps, which would have been nicer to see a little higher, perhaps 30 fps, but 4K/20 is plenty for a high quality stream of everything thats happening in the real world. After all, this isn't marketed as a professional security system, it would be nice if ZOSI introduced a system that included advanced features, maybe even camera configuration such as other IP camera models - I'd certainly be interested in that. However, this kit is simple to setup, easy-to-use and great for the everyday person who wants a great security camera system.
Playback is a great experience with the ZR08HN type NVR that I was supplied with, it has a nice interface displaying 4 cameras at once, with a timeline of events/motion, a date calendar and check boxes for which cameras you're trying to play back. On the previous system, it was similar but in a less impressive interface.
I do like the latest 4K C225 with support for humanoid, vehicular and facial detection, they always detect when they should and I've rarely seen a false detection. It is a shame that there are two hardware revisions of the C225, meaning my original set is too old for firmware updates which includes newer AI detection features. The newer models also have a smart black/white text overlay which automatically changes the timestamp and camera name to be black or white depending on the background colour, the older models are stuck in white. I do love the design of the C225, I much prefer it over the C182 bullet types - the C225 is sleek, modern and isn't an eyesore, and actually looks great on the side of a house.
Support is great from ZOSI - especially from Slina. I've been dealing with Slina in any support requests I've made over the last year or so, she is quick to respond and always resolves any issues I've had. There was even a time I made a suggestion and a bug-fix and the next update featured my own feedback! I had a weird issue with my HN series NVR where audio from the camera microphones would not play properly through the HDMI port, so after trial and error, Slina from support offered a replacement NVR - once receiving the replacement however, the issue still occurs. I hope that other feedback requests are taken into consideration.
I've been a ZOSI user for well over a year, using 4 different types of camera systems from them, and I've had a great experience with them all. I like to see that ZOSI is putting more time and effort into making their mobile app better, as well as improving the style, looks and ease-of-use of the GUI on their NVR with their latest V2 NVR firmware. ZOSI claims to support ONVIF camera, which in my opinion, is a good choice as being limited to their own cameras is definitely a downside and I wouldn't exactly enjoy that - even if I don't use ONVIF cameras with the system now, however, ONVIF cameras will only work on old style NVR with firmware V1, as that allows for connecting cameras to have a username/password, the new V2 style does not have username/password option.
Overall, I can say I am quite happy with the system, it definitely "does the job". The 4K quality is perfect, even for a basic residential installation, it definitely isn't overkill, and if you can afford the difference between a 2MP, or even 5MP, I'd definitely push people to think about the 4K systems, as I said above, you can literally distinguish faces and license plates from 20+ metres away, something practically impossible on a 2MP kit.
This system is reliable, and has rarely let me down. ZOSI support is excellent, willing to listen to all customer support tickets, and always trying to solve any problem that may occur.
