Simply the Best
My new 87V feels heavy - substantial. It is very solid with strong, positive dial feedback when it is turned between ranges. It also autoranges quite quickly. I will be turning 50 in a couple of months and the dual level backlight brightness and bolder digits are great for my bifocal requiring eyes. The 87V also adds a tremendous amount of features over my trusty 'ol 29 Series II (features which I will likely never use.) This meter was a purchase to upgrade my Fluke 29 Series II that I purchased while in school back in 1994. It still looks and functions as new. It is still perfectly well within its tolerance limits, even after nearly 28 years and no calibrations. That's right - it has never even needed a calibration! Whether you need a rugged, precise meter that will hold out in the field for rough high energy applications, a DC electronics "Bench Queen" like mine will be used, or anything in between, you won't go wrong with the 87V. Swiss Army Knife
This meter has it were it counts. It is the swiss army knife of meters. Working with VFD drives this meter helps. Can measure AC voltage, AC freq, directly out of the VFD witeh LO-Pass filter. Outstanding Multimeter!!
Quality, features, accuracy, and user friendliness are all outstanding! Tired of inexpensive multimeters that are easily damaged and run the battery dead when I forget to turn off before storing. Fluke model 87V Multi-meter a world class tool
This is my second Model 87 Fluke meter. The first I got in or around 1988. After 14 years in an industrial facility performing electrical maintenance and the last 18 years the original meter was used as my personal meter at home. The meter is still being used but some of it's features have been compromised. These meters are lab quality, industrial hardy, and easy to use. New without a seal
The multi-meter appears to be in good working order. I tested most of the meter's functions and could find no problems. I have used a Fluke 87 for many years, and it is a very good meter. The meter that I received does appear to be new. However, it is not really possible to say whether the box was opened or unopened, as there is no seal on the box.
