    Good heating time.

Some rather large lumps in the bag, which also has an inner plastic bag making it robust and easy to use. Some of the charcoal 'spits' during heating so a spark guard might also be useful. Long heating time with these coals so very happy with it.

  • Most critical review

Underwhelmed - lots of small crumbs and foreign bodies

Advertised as having 30% more large pieces than its competitors… for what I received this simply isn’t true. For each bag, a quarter of it is crumbs. The charcoal is laced with plastic as well as vegetation. However! It’s great quality charcoal and burns a lovely bright orange. I’m enjoying the product and will use it all. but will probably go back to ‘Big K’ when it’s all used up.

  • Good Charcoal

This is the third bag of this type of charcoal I have purchased, it works out to be very economical and lasts much longer than the cheap paraffin smelling supermarket stuff. I light it with a blow torch and no lighting fluid excellent charcoal.

  • Good idea if you have somewhere to store it and use it regularly.

Better than the stuff sold to the private customer. Bigger pieces don't fall through the grate. Seems to light more easily. A few lumps are too big for my BBQ and have to be split with a coal chisel and a hammer

  • Absolute top quality for outdoor smoking.

I've been smoking meat for a number of years and never really thought that there could be such a huge difference in the result just by changing charcoal. As you can tell from the 5 stars: I was very wrong. This burns excellently evenly and at a hotter heat than most charcoals I've used (meaning you can use less, for WAY longer) and the end result was some perfectly smoked meats which were pull-apart tender without any overcooked parts at all. It's odd how noticably different this stuff is to regular supermarket style charcoal. The weight and texture differs and the smell is nothing like what I've been used to (full disclosure, I wasn't a fan of the smell of this charcoal but the cooking results show that whatever they've treated this in does a fine job). Will definitely order again

  • Good value

Lots of charcoal for the money, will last the summer. Big lumps so take some time to get going. Not as good as our locally produced hardwood charcoal but good in a pinch. Delivery was quick.

  • Worst charcoal I've used

This is not a premium product as described and is the worst charcoal I have ever used. The majority were very small pieces which don't hold there heat or last very long. The has a significant volume of dust. Created a mini "fireworks show" when lit due to the dust.

  • Metal melter

Used as furnace fuel for melting brass. Achieves good temperature and leaves little residue. Good fuel.
