Merry Christmas
Purchased for my son for Christmas. He has found it easy and very enjoyable to use. Sounds great! does everything an audio interface needs to do at this level. He hasn't downloaded the program that came with it yet, however the program he was using in the past, Garage Band, works great with it. The base line really pops out at you and the highs are sweet. BEST INTERFACE EVER!
I’ve been through several over the years. Some cheap, some high end, and it is true that get u pay for. Or I should say it was true, because focusrite is killing it with the Scarlett line! U can tell when u grab it that it’s built well. Strong and durable to last. But the sound quality is what is truly amazing. Recording and playback both are just so crystal clear! 10 yrs ago you just couldn’t get that good of sound in a home studio unless you had 10’s of thousand to drop into it. Last but not least... Small package BIG POWER! I only bought the solo (2nd Gen) the smallest I think, but you’d never know it by listening to the performance. And using is super easy with midi usb, plug and play. I love my solo 2nd gen! And I see myself upgrading to at least the 212, or bigger.🤷🏻♂️ Either way, focusrite has a new life long customer in me. As long as they keep standards at this level. A great bundled deal
Everything is included as described. I was a great deal, especially with the mic. Buying just the bare unit and then having to buy a separate mic to go with it can be costly. You also get that 20' microphone cable, even though the mic comes with its own 10' cable. The thing I can't figure out is the bundled software. I download and installed it but can't open it to use. There is no app or icon on the desktop to open it. I looked for it in the "C" drive to see if I could find the icon to open the program and all I found was the installer files to run the installation. I have to be using Audacity (a free open source, user friendly audio recorder software) to record audio with it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This sound interface works great with Windows 10 and is really easy to use. They say you can plug it and start composing right away... And it's actually true! Well built premium quality
Sound quality is good for both play and recording. Everything is clearly labeled and easy to use. Yes it has phantom power on the XLR and yes it works with premium microphones, I am using it with Rode NT1 and works perfect. Focusrite Scarlett Solo

Great product at a great price 👍
This does everything the 2i2 does. The major difference is the price. The 2i2 has XLR/ 1/4" combo jacks. The solo has 1 XLR and one 1/4". The 2i2 has 1/4" out and the solo has RCA out. The 2i2 has a separate monitor and headphone level pots, the Solo has one volume pot that controls both the monitor and the headphones. So it's those 3 things that make the price vary by $40 between the 2i2 and the Solo. This is my first recording at home project, so I went with the Solo. I'm not disappointed at all. Great price for adequate gear
I got this combo primarily for the cheap price on the Scarlett Solo (I only need one mic input and Focusrite is industry standard for a reason), and expected the Rockville RCM03 condenser to perform better than the $5 dynamics some bundles give you. It certainly does, but it's not without its faults. With this pairing of pre-amp and mic. the gain has to be cranked and you need to vocalize quite loud for the mic to pick up, causing a bit of clipping. The condenser doesn't seem to get quite the rounded tone I expected, but I am still learning the ropes of the DAW to more effectively clean it up.
