Solves my problem as an afterthought
The problem: How do I back up my digital photos to a USB flash drive when I'm traveling in the middle of nowhere? It suddenly dawned on me that a powered device of some sort was necessary to transfer files from an SD card to a flash drive. It seemed that nothing short of a laptop could do that. After much searching, I decided that the FIleHub Plus could probably solve my seemingly simple problem. I couldn't confirm it until the device arrived, but the instructions don't actually mention this use case: insert the SD card at one end, and the USB drive at the other end, and use a wifi-connected phone app to select, copy, and paste the files. The app is awkward, but it works. The FIleHub Plus can do many other useful things, but the simple backup feature makes it worth the money for me.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

It's small, has a 6000 mAh power bank so I can charge my phones, the App is easy to setup and use and it handled my 2TB portable HDD with no issues streaming movies and music to various devices. I have used it a few times now while travelling in the car and in hotels. This plus a small media box and HDD and you have your own network and media server anywhere you go and they all fit in the palm of your hand. RAVPower FileHub a great way to access your hard drives on ipad
This product delivers what it promises. I can access my hard drives from any device. It works great both with Android and ipad. I believe it will work fine with my laptop as well. The RAVPower FileHub apps on ipad should have been better, and my ipad struggles to detect my files (u have to use the file explorer). This works fine on android. I transferred some video files to my ipad, edited them with LumaFusion and transferred the finished movie directly to my USB drive. I can transfer text, audio, photo and video files to my ipad without depending on iClude, iTunes, Dropbox....don't need to pay a monthly fee for internet storage, and I should even be able to accesss the device as a cloud (not tested yet)Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
