    Holiday arrangements made easy

    This feeder came recommended by many users so I got one. Had to modify the feed slot to take sinking fish food, no problem. I also built a small frame so that the unit could stand on a Bio-Orb 60L tank above the feed hole in the lid. I now do not have to arrange for a neighbour or relative to feed the fish when away, and the fish have become trained to the quiet whirring as the unit rotates to supply their food. I was building a unit myself, but this is far better.

    Very difficult to regulate feed amounts

    The accuracy of the amount of food dispensed is very hit and miss.I went away for 3 days, thinking everything was sorted, On my return, I discovered that the dispensing hole had become blocked up, The fish enjoyed their next meal! My thoughts were to spend a bit more on a "good" product and it would do the job well.I have had the feeder on test for the past week, one dispense puts more than needed, the next one, no where near enough. I am using granules so that it is free flowing but still I can't manage to make it do what I want. Next time I am away for 2 or 3 days, I think I will use a feeding block.

    Well constructed, reliable and with comprehensive settings.

    I did not find it easy to program using the limited instructions, but a You Tube video certainly helped. Once set up, it is operating efficiently and I am confident that it will look after my grand-daughter's aquarium whilst she is on holiday, with minimum input from me.

    doesnt work with flakes good enough

    i wanted it for flakes, after a few days the flakes inside stick together and nothing comes out, you have to remove the container and give it a good shack to break them up. also the max you can drop a feed is eight times eg eight minutes at one minute interval, and often you would be lucky if two flakes drop at time, sorry to be negative but i just couldnt trust it whilst i went away on holiday.

    A really nice bit of kit
