THIS IS THE ALTERNATIVE WEAPON I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!! Using a regular gun is to risky. Lawyers, supervisors, red tape, possibility of injuring self, possibility of injuring an innocent, etc... Also a Taser can stop somebody's heart and kill them anyway. A pepper blaster is great to maintain control and distance. It allows you and the suspect to walk away unharmed, and also you have at least two shots in the event of a counterstrike. Is simple to use and easy to handle for a medium to a large hand. Just make sure it is allowed where you live and that you have a general training or sense on how to shoot it! DEFINITELY NOT A TOY. Keep out of reach of children for it can suffocate someone with breathing problems, specially a child with asthma. Great for one on one police work though and to avoid unnecessary deaths. However, a longer reaching shot for on the street, serious riot control would be required (at least 20 feet), as well as more than two shots. It can be a good animal attack deterrent as well. I made an intervention, and was attacked by a hog numerous times until I shot it away with the pepper blaster. Good for unexpected encounters in the wild. Best darn teargas gun you can get!
I buy a lot of these, mostly as gifts. They are very effective, fast draw and accurate. Just remember, the bottom barrel fires first! The only thing that would make this better would be a holster. I take this with me everywhere I go, and have used it many times- it works. Only 2 shots, but they will not know that if you keep pointing it. GREAT ITEM- MUST HAVE! Great non-lethal defense option! Small and easy to carry!
I have owned three of these Pepper Blasters. They do have an expiration date, so when one is close to expiring, I use it to practice with. These little "blasters" sight well at close range, especially at 10-13 feet. If you shoot handguns, you will have no problem with these. Even if you are not a conventional shooter, just a little handling and you should be easily capable of firing it accurately. This is my "go-to" non-lethal carry option. With the trigger block, that folds out of the way when firing (when finger is on the trigger), there is a very limited danger of accidental discharge. The biggest limiting factor is that this is two shots and done. Great size, great weight, and great effectiveness. Unlike some pepper sprays, this little blaster gives you a little bit of distance and less chance of "blow back" with better aiming ability. FYI the bottom barrel fired first in my test and was just a tiny bit lower than the top barrel when it fired at 13 feet. There is a special holster made for this unit, but I prefer a Soft Armor number 31 pocket holster which fits it perfectly. Best personal defense product other than a firearm and sometimes even better that that.
I have been carrying one of these for years and give them to loved ones each Christmas. I know if I have to resort to using this I won't have to worry about the ramifications of killing someone. I also know that if someone is under the influence of a lot of drugs they may not even feel it if they have been shot but this will temporarily blind them at the very least and THAT can save your life. When someone cannot see or breath they are stopped in their tracks as opposed to someone who has been shot and even if mortally wounded can still keep coming at you. I love my Kimber Pepper Blaster II
I have my CCW and ALWAYS prefer to carry this Kimber Pepper Blaster unit - even over my usual firearm. I can carry this anywhere and it is far, far more stable and I expect reliable than pressurized gels. I live in Central California where it get's very hot and I worry about pressurized gels & sprays in my car when it's 114 degrees outside. Kimber Gray Pepper Blaster II (PBII)
I have carried the PBII for the last 4-5 years in places where I cannot carry my concealed firearm. Its configuration allows me to carry it in the same way I carry a firearm, in a holster on my belt, so its use follows the same "muscle memory" as I would use to draw my P380. The gray colored version is less obvious than the red when occasionally exposed when I wear it outside my waistband. Thankfully I have never had to use it "in anger" but when I have it in lieu of my .380 I feel it is the best substitute within the law. Perfect size for my small hands. I feel like I have maximum control especially when I hold it according to suggestion. I pack this on my side every day to work on my bike. "Small, Light and Safe"
The Kimber LA 98002 Pepperblaster is a very well made product. It's size is small and fits well in pants pockets and coat pockets. The weight is no problem as it is very light just several ozs. It has the safety in the trigger guard so if needed simply push out of the way with the trigger finger. Pepper Blaster
I highly recommend this non-lethal pepper gel gun to deter wild animals. This is my second trip to the Appalachian Trail...known for black bears and clandestine marijuana crops.
